We are conveniently located just 4 miles from I64 in Shelbyville, only 30 minutes from Louisville, and 45 mintutes from Lexington. We have access to a variety of skilled veterinarians, as well as referral clinics and specialists. There are several barefoot trimmers in the area.
Our farm features a 10 stall barn, indoor arena, wash rack, automatic waterers, multiple pastures, paddocks, and a hay field. We have our hay baled specifically to achieve a high quality low starch forage, appropriate for horses with metabolic issues. We currently have one track paddock (aka Paradise Paddock) situtated on a hillside with various terrain (see Track Paddock page). The horses rarely stay in stalls, but they are available if needed.
We have a dream of building our farm into an all inclusive hoof rehabilitation center. Plans include additional dry lots of various sizes with various footing, to accomodate different hoof problems at different stages of healing. In addition to the current track paddock, we plan to build an additional larger track surrounding the hay field for horses that can tolerate more grass. Eventually we plan to add an Equicizer to get horses moving even more, if appropriate for specific cases.
The indoor arena is great for occasional turnout and exercise during bad weather
