Mountain horses have stolen our hearts with their kind sensible dispositions, all around athleticism and ability to do it all.
Our personal horses are primarily used for trail riding, but we like a horse who is versatile and willing to do anything that sounds like fun at the time. We value calm, confident, intelligent and people oriented personalities, that are safe and reliable under saddle as well as sweet affectionate companions. Good conformation and hooves for a long life of soundness is of great importance as well. Exceptionally smooth gaits are the icing on the cake!
We strive to produce foals who have been raised right. Premium nutrition beginning before conception. Optimal hoof care from birth. Top medical care all along. Careful handling with an emphasis on future soundness both of mind and body. We have our foals evaluated by a vet and/or bodyworker early on to be sure they are free from common asymmetries or minor issues that can become bigger problems later in life. We handle and train foals carefully to avoid neck injuries which are all too common with traditional training for leading and tying fragile babies. Our foals are handled daily but not over handled, we let them be a horse and have as much turnout as possible right from the start, only confining to the barn if medically necessary or bad weather as a newborn. They grow up in herds on mixed terrain where they learn to socialize and develop strong hooves, bodies, and minds. Foals have the opportunity to explore our obstacle course and observe older horses being trained. Young horses may be ponied on short trail rides.
We plan to expand our breeding operation in the future, but for now are breeding just a couple select mares each year.
We select breeding matches with an emphasis on correct conformation, exceptional temperament and smooth gaits. We love beautiful colors but not at the expense of quality. Our goal is to produce exceptional horses who have it all!
